Check-ups

Regular check-ups can be the single appointment that can save your oral health.

We know it can be difficult to find time to book dental appointments in today’s busy lifestyle but booking your regular 6-month check-ups can be the difference between needing a simple filling or a complex root canal.

An oral examination allows for us to see your level of oral health which can lead to a suitable preventative plan or advice to keep a high level oral cleaning routine. Prevention treatments reduce the need for cosmetic or restorative dentistry in the future.

We can advise you on choosing the treatment option that is best suited to you and your circumstances.

Cosmetic Dentistry

Often, simple solutions can make a big difference to the appearance of your teeth and mouth. Simply improving the brightness and whiteness of your teeth, or reshaping just one tooth can transform your smile.

Our cosmetic dentistry treatments include teeth whitening (either in-office or at home) and veneers. Both are a safe and effective way to achieve your desired smile.

Here at Crookes & Jenkins we always put your health as our priority. Cosmetic treatments are suitable for those with healthy teeth and gums. If we discover you may be more suitable for restorative treatment, you may be offered crowns and fillings before carrying any cosmetic treatments.

Restorative Dentistry

Our range of restorative treatment options are all aimed at restoring and maintaining the health of your natural teeth.

Whether you have one tooth or multiple teeth affected by decay, damage or injury, we have the option to restore the form and function of your affected teeth. If you have spotted symptoms of tooth decay, it is essential to see your dentist as soon as possible to have the best chance of treatment success.

Restorative dentistry treatments include fillings and root canals, crowns and bridges, dental implants and dentures. Each treatment option is individually suited to your needs and will be discussed with you to give you the most suitable option.

If a tooth is severely damaged and can’t be saved, extraction may be necessary. Here at Crookes & Jenkins we do our very best to avoid this by early intervention and treatment.

Dental Implants

Our restorative treatment of dental implants is recommended as a long-term, healthy solution to replace a missing tooth.

Missing teeth need treatment otherwise they can cause a variety of problems such as teeth shifting, gum disease or tooth decay, TMJ symptoms or a change in facial appearance. A missing tooth needs to be treated as soon as possible to prevent the need for any extensive cosmetic or restorative dentistry.

A dental implant is an artificial tooth (normally a crown or bridge) which is attached to an implant which is inserted into your gums. They are strong, durable and create a natural look which allows for restoration of your natural smile.

You may be considering dental implants if you want to replace a single tooth, which may have been lost due to injury, tooth decay or old age. You need to have healthy gums and have adequate bone structure to secure the implants.

Sedation Dentistry

We understand that for some patients, the thought of visiting the dentist can be an uncomfortable one. This is why at Crookes and Jenkins we provide sedation dentistry for nervous patients.

While we cannot guarantee that your visit will be entirely pain free, we offer patients sedation technology to minimise the potential for pain, discomfort and anxiety.  Sedation technology uses pharmacological agents to help anxious patients prior and during their treatments.

We are a licensed provider of nitrous oxide (also known as happy or laughing gas) which helps to relax those anxious patients allowing for them to undergo treatment. The mixture of gas is issued through a mask over the nose.

This method is safe for children which is useful as children are usually the most fearful or nervous as they are not used to the sensations experienced through dentistry treatment. The sedation is minimal, meaning that the effects wear off quickly after the treatment.
